Powell Power; Delhi survives bad start; Mumbai set a target of 160 for victory

Mumbai Indians set a target of 160 for victory over Delhi Capitals. Batting first, Delhi lost 7 wickets for 159 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Rowman Powell was Delhi’s top scorer with 43 runs. Jaspreet Bumra took three wickets for Mumbai.

Delhi got off to a bad start. Daniel Sams knocked out David Warner in the third over for just 21 runs on the scoreboard. Warner, who scored 5, was caught by Boomera. Later, Delhi lost wickets in a row. Mitchell Marsh (0) and Prithviraj Shah (24) were dismissed by Bumra. Marsh was caught by Rohit and Prithviraj by Kishan. Sarfraz Khan (10), who started well, was handed over to Mayank Markande Kishan.

Rowman Powell and Rishabh bowled for the fifth wicket as Delhi were bowled out for 50 in 8.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Both started the innings cautiously and then switched to attacking mode. The ball bounced back following a game-changing partnership of 75 runs. Ramandeep Singh Kishan smashed 39 off 33 balls with four fours and a six. The ball bounced back but Powell continued his impressive performance, batting in the final overs. Akshar Patel also fired some big shots. Powell returned in the 19th over. Bumra Klein bowled 43 off 34 balls with one four and four sixes. Shardul Thakur (4) was handed over to Ramandeep Singh by Tim David. Akshar Patel (19) remained unbeaten.
