SAN FRANCISCO —
Norman Powell made four triples in the last 7:03 minutes to total 21 points and surpass Stephen Curry during the final stretch of the game that the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors 130-125 on Wednesday.
The Clippers came back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
James Harden had 26 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Paul George scored 24 points before being ejected for fouling out, on a night when the Clippers were without leading scorer Kawhi Leonard due to a left leg injury.
His status for this weekend’s All-Star Game in Indianapolis is uncertain, although coach Tyronn Lue did not seem overly concerned regarding the injury.
“I don’t think it’s serious,” Lue said. “He played despite this in the last game. He experienced some pain in his hip, so when the game was decided, we did not send him back for the fourth quarter and we preferred to be smart regarding this.”
Curry scored 41 points and became the first player in NBA history to hit seven or more three-pointers in four straight games. He was 9 of 19 from long range and 15 of 31 overall.
He reached 40 points for the sixth time in the campaign. He has scored 30 or more in three of his last four games.
