Bayer launches recall for 16,000 boxes of Euphytose
The Bayer group, in collaboration with the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM), has taken the decision to recall 16,000 boxes of Euphytose after a consumer reported the presence of a Phenergan tablet among the usual brown tablets. This incident concerns lot SX2298, whose expiry date is set for March 2025.
Consumers with boxes from this lot are asked to return them to their pharmacy. This recall measure aims to eliminate any potential risk to the health of consumers, Phenergan being a medicine requiring a medical prescription, mainly used to treat insomnia.
An ongoing investigation
Following this discovery, the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM) quickly communicated to reassure Euphytose holders, in particular by emphasizing the fact that ingestion of a tablet represented little risk to the health of consumers. “ Pharmacists are asked to take all measures within their pharmacy to inform patients of this recall. », Specifies the ANSM.
The Bayer group has just launched an investigation to determine the origin of this incident. Only one report has been made so far, which suggests that this is an isolated incident.
