Potential IPL Stars Who Could Shine at World Cup Revealed by Sanjay Manjrekar

Mumbai: Former India player Sanjay Manjrekar has openly said that it will be difficult for many young players who don’t get a chance to participate in the IPL to get a place in the World Cup squad. Manjrekar told First Post that although Kolkata player Rinku Singh is sure to make the World Cup squad, Rinku has only had a chance in a few matches this season. The selectors are expected to announce the 15-member squad for the World Cup later this month.

Rinku, who scored 474 points in 14 matches last season, has scored only 83 points in six matches this season. Rinku has remained unbeaten twice and has an excellent strike rate of 162.75. It is therefore certain that Rinku will be a natural choice in the World Cup team. But Manjrekar said this is not the case for many other young players who have not been given enough opportunities in the IPL.

The Mumbai star shared a fan’s post criticizing captain Hardik Pandya; Shocked supporters

Sanju has to be on the team for sure

Manjrekar said Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson lived up to expectations and hence players like Sanju should definitely be a part of the World Cup squad. Sanju has been in and out of the Indian team for a long time. What fans expected from Sanju is now coming true. Sanju’s consistency and maturity this season is worth mentioning. If he is in good form, if he catches Sanju, he will not get it. Manjrekar also said that we need players like Sanju in the World Cup squad anyway. India’s squad for the World Cup, which begins in June, is expected to be announced later this month.
