The biggest trial in Belgian history will ultimately not begin this Monday, November 6 as planned. At the origin of the postponement of the Sky ECC megatrial, a request filed with the French-speaking Court of First Instance of Brussels (TPI). The request “targets legitimate suspicion following the decisions taken by the three magistrates in the context of requests made at the hearings of June 30, 2023 and October 24, 2023,” states the CFI.
It turns out that in this case, the Judicial Code imposes the suspension of the activities of the headquarters concerned in the processing of the file. This, while waiting for the Court of Appeal to render its decision concerning the request for recusal.
