A move to persuade wrestlers

New Delhi: The Indian Olympic Association has written to the Olympic Council of Asia seeking the postponement of the Asian Games and World Championship qualifiers scheduled to be held this month due to insufficient time for wrestlers to train. The Indian Olympic Association has sent a letter to persuade the wrestlers as per the central directive amid rumors that the wrestlers may start a strike once more in connection with the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India President Brijbhushan Singh Yadav, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment.

It was earlier decided that the qualifying matches should be held by July 15. The letter has been sent with a request to extend it to August. As the 6 players who went on strike did not get enough time for training, the request needs to be considered separately. Randhir Singh, head of the Olympic Council of Asia and an Indian, has said that there will be immediate action on the letter. During the meeting with the Union Minister, the players demanded that the qualifiers be postponed to August. With the assurance that Brij Bhushan will not be arrested soon in the wake of the cancellation of the POCSO case, there are rumors that the actors may start a strike once more. In this situation, the intervention to implement other needs of the players.
