“Postcards are cool today – and it’s always about love!”

Frank Dehner and Caroline Peters run Art Postal, an art card publisher in Vienna, and notice increased demand.

Where would I get a postcard from you right now?

Frank Dehner: We are in Paris! By the way, it all started in 2017 for me and my partner (Note: Burg actress Caroline Peters) with our postcard publisher, that’s where we had the idea. Even now I’m taking an incredible amount of photos here once more, behind Notre Dame, there’s a huge construction site, or at night the lovers and the lanterns. It’s really like “Midnight in Paris” by Woody Allen, exactly like that, that has to be on a postcard, we said, because we love this film so much, in which it seems possible to go back to other times. That only works in Paris. And in Vienna!

Your art postcard publishing house and shop “Art Postal” in Margaretenstraße also looks like something from other times. . .

Why do you think that! We only notice strong inflow and increased demand! But of course it’s a niche that will never be a crazy success once more. But this niche is huge, there are millions of postcard lovers. This ranges from older people to young people from the area who come and ask where they have to fill in the postcards. But they think it’s cool because it’s analog. you have something in your hand. It’s like the book.
