He was quoted as saying by TASS, “I have not heard that some kind of preferential mortgage program is being developed for officials, builders or housing and communal services workers.” RBC reported that the Ministry of Finance is planning to propose a preferential mortgage program for civil servants, with the idea of subsidizing interest rates on mortgages for officials being worked on for two years. Since 2009, civil servants with at least three years of experience have been eligible for a one-time subsidy for the purchase of housing in Russia.
