Now the virus has also caught Chancellor Karl Nehammer. He tested positive. On Wednesday, a routine PCR test following his vacation came back negative through Tuesday. The infection apparently took place on Wednesday evening in contact with a member of his security team who tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
Nehammer is three times vaccinated. So far he has no symptoms. “There’s nothing to worry regarding, I’m fine,” he says. The Chancellor is in home quarantine, carries out his official business from there by means of video and telephone conferences and will not attend any public appointments with personal contact in the next few days, according to a broadcast. Nehammer’s wife and children tested negative today.
During the consultations with GECKO, Federal Chancellor Nehammer always wore an FFP2 mask, informed a spokesman. Nevertheless, all persons with whom the Chancellor was in contact yesterday were notified.
