At the end of the month, the complete registration of the POS terminals operating in the Greek territory will gradually begin, the Independent Public Revenue Authority continues. By decision of the AADE Governor, Giorgos Pitsilis, a Register of Means of Payment (POS) is set up and maintained on the digital portal myAADE and the process of its continuous updating is defined.
This is a decisive step towards the realization of the extremely important project of the interconnection of cash systems and POS.
AADE’s goal is for the POS register to be created automatically, based on the information that AADE will receive from the POS providers, and for businesses to correct and complete their image, declaring POSs that may not be included in the data that will have been sent from the Providers.
In particular, the active POS of businesses will be declared automatically, through an interface (API), every ten days:
• by the Payment Service Providers (Acquirers) that clear transactions paid for using payment cards and
• by the Payment Service Providers (NSPs) who provide, install and manage POS terminals.
For their part, businesses using POS:
• From September 29, 2023, they become aware of their active POS, which have been declared for them in the POS Registry by the Providers. Entry to the Registry is done on the myAADE digital portal (myaade.gov.gr) under the path: Registry and Contact/Business Details.
• They are obliged, from October 11 to 30, 2023, to submit a declaration for any correction of the image of the active POS they have on September 30, 2023.
• Henceforth, they are obliged, from the 11th to the last day of each month, to submit a declaration for the changes of the previous month, as long as these have not been declared by the Providers, as well as for the update or any correction of the declared data.
It is clarified that active means the POS that can be used to complete transactions with a card, regardless of whether it is used or available as a backup in case of functional failure or other emergency.
