Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz announced his departure from coaching the Pharaohs following losing the dream of qualifying for the Qatar World Cup 2022. Queiroz said through his official account on the social networking site “Twitter” on Tuesday evening: “The dream is over .. We are doing our best, but all of that was not enough.” .
He explained, “It has been a privilege for me to work and have the help of such dedicated professionals and wonderful friends, I am very proud of you guys.
My best wishes and great gratitude to all Egyptian fans.”
The Senegalese football team booked the second seat of the African continent in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, following beating its Egyptian counterpart 3-1 on penalties on Tuesday, in the second leg of the final round of World Cup qualifiers.
The two teams exchanged wins at their stadiums with the same result, as the Egyptian team had previously won at home 1-0 in the first leg last Friday, while the Senegalese team won at home with the same result in the second leg, to tie in the total result of the two matches, and the penalty shootout decided the difficult confrontation between them.
