Since she was seven years old, Wapea Xolawawa has been passionate about slam. The young girl from Lifou has already met the island’s slammer, Paul Wamo, and is also inspired by Grand Corps Malade, an internationally known singer and slammer.
I was surprised that people from Lifou could slam, it made me want to write even more, to do more slams, not to impress but to create.
