Portaltic.-Twitter uses the Community Notes to report misleading images – Publimetro México

MADRID, 31 (Portaltic/EP)

Community Notes is a feature available since December of last year that aims to “create a better informed world” and allows users to collaboratively add context to potentially misleading tweets.

It is an open source system that “is powered by the people, for the people, and adds useful and informative context through tweets,” according to the company’s presentation.

Users are also notified if they have interacted (with a ‘like’ or a comment, for example) with a ‘tweet’ that has received contextual information from this tool.

now Twitter is integrating a new functionality to the Community Notes that serves to alert that the videos or photographs that these ‘tweets’ contain are misleading. More specifically, to debunk potentially false images.

This has been verified by the editor of TechCrunch Nima Owji, who has shared a screenshot on his Twitter profile where the new options offered by the platform appear when an image is reported.

“Given the current evidence, I think it is likely that this tweet is…”, is indicated in the statement, which makes two options available to users: ‘Potentially misleading and would benefit from additional context’ and ‘Not misleading’ ‘.
