Port worker is captured while transporting Q242 thousand and ammunition

Security forces reported on September 4 that it was apprehended a supposed port worker.
The National Civil Police (PNC) detailed that Erwin “N”, 35 years old, was intercepted when he left the port Quetzal in a vehicle.
Edwin Monroyinspector of the PNC, explained that it was due to a complaint that was proceeded with the arrest of the subject.
When carrying out an inspection on the vehicle in which he was traveling, he was 180 ammunitions were located of different calibers.
In addition, packages were found with Q242 thousand 710 in cashwhose origin the detainee could not justify.
“The presence of the Public Prosecutor’s Office was requested to prosecute the case. The detainee allegedly works in that sector“, explained Inspector Monroy.

The Quetzal Port Company reported that the detained person works for that entity.
He explained that the person works for a private company that provides services within the port area.
