Port Said – Tariq Al-Rifai:

The Port Said Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Jawdat Mikhail Qadis, and the membership of Counselors: Amjad Mahmoud Al-Kanisi, Ahmed Muhammad Al-Gamal, Muhammad Mortada Maram, the presidents of the court, and the secretariat of Tariq Okasha and Khaled Khudair, decided today, Sunday, to refer the papers of the accused of killing his sister (the bride of Port Said) in front of a mosque. Al-Hussein in Al-Manakh neighborhood to the Mufti of the Republic, and the session was set for next March 11 to pronounce the ruling.

Signs of confusion and tension appeared on the defendant’s face as soon as he entered the dock, and he referred to his lawyer, Hani Fawqi, more than once to talk to him before the trial session.

In its case, the Public Prosecution described the crime as unbearable, saying: “The most heinous crime known to humanity, in which the accused is stripped of all feelings of humanity, and brutally assaults his sister, but he is worse than the monsters themselves,” demanding that the accused be punished with death.

Hani Fawqi, the accused’s lawyer, presented a document proving the withdrawal of guardianship from the father of the accused and the victim for many reasons, including neglect, pointing out that the psychiatric report at the psychiatric hospital in Abbasiya included that the accused suffers from a neurotic personality, which is a psychological disorder that affects the accused’s perception and choice. As a result of social and societal pressure, especially following the death of his mother, he demanded compassion towards his client.

Muhammad Safa, the victim’s family lawyer, presented the victim’s phone with a transcript of a number of photos and conversations indicating the good relationship between her and her accused brother.

The events of the incident date back to September 11, 2023, in the Al-Manakh Police Department in Port Said Governorate, in which Muhammad Nabil Al-Sayed Othman Dahdah, 22 years old, is accused of deliberately ending the life of the victim, his sister “Farida,” with premeditation and premeditation, in front of the family’s home opposite Al-Hussein Mosque in the Al-Manakh neighborhood.
