Porsche previously announced that the second generation of its popular SUV Macan will be unveiled as an electric vehicle, which has attracted a lot of discussion. Recently, this pure electric second generation Macan was finally unveiled in Singapore, and its performance surpasses the fuel version.
The pure electric Macan will become the second generation of the Macan series, rather than being launched as an electric model. In the future, it will completely replace the current fuel version and adopt the same new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture as the Audi Q6 e-tron. The equipped battery is 100kWh, and with the 800V power architecture, it can support up to 270kW fast charging, but the actual battery life is still to be announced.
The pure electric Macan will have two versions: Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. Both are equipped with dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Macan 4 has a power of 300 kW (402 horsepower) and an acceleration performance of 0-100 in 4.9 seconds. In the cabin, the all-electric Macan certainly incorporates a variety of latest technologies, including a new head-up display, which is equivalent to an 87-inch screen, while the center console has a 12.6-inch touch screen, plus a 10.9-inch screen on the instrument panel, which uses Android Automotive system, but still supports Apple Carplay.
In terms of price, the second-generation Macan will be more expensive than the first-generation. The Macan 4 is priced at US$80,450 (approximately HK$628,914) in the United States, while the Macan Turbo costs US$106,950 (approximately HK$836,061). The Hong Kong price is still to be announced.
