German sports car manufacturer Porsche has added the second generation of the all-electric Taycan with three new model versions – the Taycan 4 sedan, the Taycan GTS and the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, bringing the total number of Taycans to 16. ” versions.
“The new Taycan GTS, which is available both as a sports sedan and as a Sport Turismo version, has a maximum power of up to 515 kW (700 hp) with Launch control, and only the Turbo version is sportier than that. Meanwhile, the price the most affordable sports sedan “Taycan 4″ is also available with all-wheel drive for the first time,” says Ivars Norvelis, head of SIA “Baltijas sporta auto”, the official representative of “Porsche” in Latvia.
He also adds that the new models have three body styles, all-wheel or rear-wheel drive and different power levels of the Porsche E-Performance engines from 300 to 760 kW (408 to 1,034 hp), as well as all the improvements in design, technology and equipment. , with which Porsche updated the Taycan earlier this year.
“Already the first generation Taycan GTS was a sporty benchmark of the model line, positioned between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo. The new model version is no exception,” says Kevin Geek, vice president of the model line.
At the beginning of 2024, Porsche launched the significantly modernized Taycan – improved design, more power and range, as well as even better charging performance.
Both performance and efficiency improvement come from a number of factors at the same time. Namely, an improved drive with a new rear axle motor, the power of which is up to 80 kW more than its predecessor in all models, a modified pulse inverter with optimized software, more powerful batteries, a revised thermal management system, a next-generation heat pump and a modified recuperation and all-wheel drive strategy. For example, it can be charged with a power of up to 320 kW at 800 volt DC charging stations. The maximum recuperation power during deceleration has been increased up to 400 kW.
The new version of “Taycan GTS”: sporty and versatile
“GTS” stands for “Gran Turismo Sport”. Since the 1963 “Porsche 904 Carrera GTS” model, these three letters have a special reputation among Porsche fans. Now the “Taycan” model range also has a variant with the legendary letter combination. More precisely, two variants: the new “Taycan GTS” is available as a sports sedan and as a “Sport Turismo”.
As a sporty and versatile car, the Taycan GTS impresses with up to 515 kW of power in Overboost mode with Launch Control, which is 75 kW more than its predecessor.
With the new “Push-to-Pass” function2, included in the standard “Sport Chrono” package, a power increase of up to 70 kW can be obtained at the press of a button for ten seconds. In the “Taycan GTS” model, the “Push-to-Pass” function also has a particularly sporty character, as the torque is increased to “Launch Control” level at low speeds. As with the Taycan Turbo GT, the power boost is indicated by a countdown timer in the instrument panel and is dynamically represented by animated rings on the speedometer.
The Taycan GTS sports sedan and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, or 0.4 seconds faster than their respective predecessors. The sports sedan needs just 10.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 200 km/h, which is 1.6 seconds faster than before. The mileage has also been improved by more than 120 kilometers and is now up to 628 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
To do justice to the revving nature of the GTS, it has been given a more pronounced sound profile, analogous to the Taycan Turbo S and differentiating it from other Taycan models.
The exterior and interior also stand out equally. The many black or anthracite gray details on the exterior are typical of the GTS. Compared to its predecessor, the new “Taycan GTS” has “Sport” design inserts in the front and rear bumpers and high-gloss black elements. The same color is also used for the bases of the exterior mirrors. On the other hand, both the standard “Taycan Turbo S Aero Design” 20-inch rims and the optionally available “RS Spyder Design” 21-inch rims exclusively for the GTS model are painted in anthracite gray.
Most of the interior materials are taken over from the “Taycan Turbo GT” models. For example, the Taycan GTS models have several elements with sporty Race-Tex and smooth black leather as standard equipment. The package also includes the adaptive sports seats “Plus” (with electric adjustment in 18 positions), the GT multifunctional sports steering wheel with mode switch and steering wheel heating, as well as the “Sport Chrono” package, which includes the “Push-to-Pass” function and the track mode.
The GT multifunction sports steering wheel, known from the Taycan Turbo GT models, is available with a black Race-Tex finish on request. The steering wheel has two mode switches and paddles for the “Push-to-Pass” function and energy recovery. In addition to Carmine Red, the optional GTS interior package is now also available in Slate Gray Neo. The “Taycan GTS” logo is placed on the instrument panel, the power meter and the start schedule. A full-range Bose sound system is included in the standard equipment.
The chassis typical of the GTS and the optional rear axle steering add a particularly sporty character. The adaptive air suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), is combined with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) as standard.
The “Porsche Active Ride” suspension system with GT-specific tuning is available as an optional extra. In dynamic driving situations, it ensures almost perfect connection with the road thanks to an optimal and balanced distribution of wheel loads. In addition, “Porsche Active Ride” ensures greater driving comfort when driving the car on a daily basis.
The new Taycan 4: an efficient performance champion among all-wheel drive models
Customers who wanted to combine the high efficiency of the budget class “Taycan” with all-wheel drive have already found what they were looking for in the “Cross Turismo” model. Now “Porsche” also offers such a variant as a sports sedan.
In terms of performance, the new Taycan 4 matches the Taycan. That is, depending on whether the standard “Performance” battery or the optional “Performance Plus” battery is installed in the car, up to 300 kW or 320 kW of power is obtained in “Overboost” mode with “Launch Control”.
The driving distance also depends on the type of battery. With the “Performance” battery it is up to 559 kilometers. With the “Performance Plus” battery, the “Taycan 4” can drive up to 643 kilometers (WLTP). Its two versions become the undisputed performance champions among all-wheel drive models, and the driving distance is only about 35 kilometers less compared to the figures of the corresponding “Taycan” models.
With one electric motor on each of the two axles, the Taycan 4 provides more driving stability and more traction than the rear-wheel drive Taycan. This is reflected in the acceleration – “Taycan 4” accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Despite the extra 80 kilograms, it’s two-tenths of a second faster than its rear-wheel-drive sibling.
By developing models cyclically, Porsche has already improved its all-wheel drive strategy. Of course, the new Taycan 4 also only benefits from optimization that improves efficiency. This means that the front electric motor is electrically disengaged whenever traction, driving dynamics and stability allow. It then reconnects in a few milliseconds when needed, such as when accelerating or recuperating.
The extensive standard equipment includes 19-inch “Taycan” wheels with “aero” type blades and black brake calipers, as well as matrix LED headlights. In addition, Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) are also standard.
Standard cabin equipment includes comfortable front seats with eight-way power adjustment, black partial leather upholstery, a dark silver accent package, a leather multifunction sports steering wheel, matte silver aluminum door sill plates and a Sound Package Plus audio system. The partial leather interior is also available in Slate Gray Neo, as well as a two-tone black/chalk beige version.
The range of Taycan models has never been so wide. The new models can already be ordered, they will be available at dealers in early 2025. The new “Taycan 4” sports sedan is available from 110,400 euros, the “Taycan GTS” sports sedan from 153,100 euros, and the “Taycan GTS Sport Turismo” – 154,000 euros.

Porsche Taycan 2.0: A Revamp or Just a Quick Charge?
So, Porsche has rolled out the second generation of the all-electric Taycan. Now, it’s available in not one, not two, but a whopping 16 different versions! You could say that they’ve gone full-on ‘Jenga’ with their model lineup. Let’s hope they don’t have a shaky tower by the end of it all! Who can keep track? What’s next, an electric Porsche on roller skates?
Performance That Turns Heads and Hurts Wallets
According to Ivars Norvelis, the head honcho of “Baltijas sporta auto” in Latvia (yes, Latvia! The place that sounds like a game show prize), the new Taycan GTS is packing a punch with 700 horsepower. And folks, that’s not just sufficient to outrun a few angry bees; that’s enough to leave your old petrol-head friends crying in the dust while you sip a vegan protein shake!
Now let’s talk about that all-too-important price point. The Taycan 4, Porsche’s most affordable option (if you ignore the fact you’re probably still taking out a loan for it), starts at a cool 110,400 euros. Meanwhile, if you’re eyeing the GTS, you might want to sell a kidney, as it’ll set you back starting from 153,100 euros. But hey, what is a little financial peril when you can look good zooming at 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds?
Power Up! Or Should We Say, Push-to-Pass?
What truly impressed me is the “Push-to-Pass” function. Seriously, it sounds like something out of a video game, doesn’t it? You press a button and you’re suddenly catapulted forward like you’ve just found a secret cheat code. Just don’t hit it at the traffic lights, or you might be simultaneously breaking records and the speed limit!
And let’s talk about efficiency! That revamped rear axle motor that now offers up to 80 kW more power than the older sibling? It’s like your Taycan has been hitting the gym, bench-pressing weights instead of just sitting around charging like a teenager! And with a maximum recuperation power of 400 kW, the Taycan could be the most eco-friendly performance car on the market. It’s like recycling on steroids!
An Autobahn Dream with a Touch of Luxury
Inside, the Taycan GTS commands attention. With Race-Tex and smooth black leather, the interior screams “I have arrived,” while those adaptive sports seats promise to cradle you like your grandma after a tough day. Plus, you can even choose a color for your interior package that matches your mood—what’s it going to be today, Carmine Red or Slate Gray Neo? The excitement is palpable!
And as for handling? The GTS comes equipped with rear axle steering—meaning when you take that sharp turn, you won’t just look good; you’ll feel like a stunt driver from an action movie. Just try not to drop the coffee!
Final Thoughts: Is it Worth It?
So, is the Porsche Taycan 2.0 a “must-have” or just another case of cars trying to outsmart each other? Well, if you fancy being the talk of the neighborhood while saving the planet, this could be for you. New sleek design, improved power and range, and a name that oozes sophistication—you might even get a invite to the next dinner party just for having one!
But keep in mind, when you hear a car is the “best” at something, it’s usually comes with “wait until they release the next version.” Just remember, the Taycan has entered the race and it looks like it’s in it for the long haul—until, of course, it gets an upgrade!

The new version of “Taycan GTS”: sporty and versatile
The “GTS” designation stands for “Gran Turismo Sport” and has held a prestigious status among Porsche enthusiasts since the introduction of the 1963 ‘Porsche 904 Carrera GTS’ model. Now, the Taycan range joins the ranks with two exciting variants featuring this iconic moniker: the all-new Taycan GTS as both a sporty sedan and a sleek “Sport Turismo.”
The Taycan GTS is designed to impress, delivering up to 515 kW in Overboost mode with Launch Control—an increase of 75 kW compared to its predecessor.
One of the standout features is the innovative “Push-to-Pass” function2 that comes standard with the “Sport Chrono” package, enabling a temporary power surge of up to 70 kW at the press of a button for a thrilling ten seconds. In this model, the “Push-to-Pass” feature enhances the driving experience, ramping up torque to match Launch Control levels even at lower speeds. This power boost is visually indicated by a countdown timer on the instrument cluster, with animated rings on the speedometer highlighting the thrill of acceleration.
The Taycan GTS sports sedan and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo showcase remarkable performance, catapulting from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.3 seconds—0.4 seconds quicker than their predecessors. The sports sedan also shines with an impressive 0 to 200 km/h acceleration time of just 10.4 seconds, outperforming its predecessor by 1.6 seconds. Furthermore, the driving range has been optimized, exceeding 120 kilometers for an impressive total of 628 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
To amplify the driving experience, the GTS variant is endowed with a more pronounced sound profile, akin to the Taycan Turbo S, which sets it apart from the other models within the Taycan lineup.
The updated exterior and interior design elements create a distinctive appearance. Black or anthracite gray detailing is prevalent throughout the exterior, a signature of the GTS line. The new Taycan GTS flaunts “Sport” design accents in the front and rear bumpers and high-gloss black features, while the exterior mirror bases also sport the same refined finish. The standard 20-inch “Taycan Turbo S Aero Design” wheels, as well as the exclusive optional “RS Spyder Design” 21-inch rims for the GTS, are beautifully adorned in anthracite gray.
Inside the cabin, premium materials from the Taycan Turbo GT models elevate the GTS experience, with features such as sporty Race-Tex and smooth black leather offered as standard. Additional highlights include the adaptive sports seats “Plus,” providing 18-way electric adjustment, and the GT multifunction sports steering wheel, which includes a mode switch and steering wheel heating. The “Sport Chrono” package, incorporating the “Push-to-Pass” function and track mode, comes standard as well.
The GT multifunction sports steering wheel, available as an option with a black Race-Tex finish, is tailored for performance with dual mode switches and paddles for engaging the “Push-to-Pass” function and managing energy recovery. The GTS chassis, enhanced with rear-axle steering as an optional upgrade, adds an extra layer of sportiness. Featuring adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), combined with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), the driving dynamics are further amplified.
The new Taycan 4: an efficient performance champion among all-wheel drive models
For those seeking an efficient all-wheel-drive variant of the Taycan, Porsche has successfully filled this gap by introducing the Taycan 4 sports sedan, which echoes the high efficiency and style of the already popular “Cross Turismo” model.
The Taycan 4 showcases impressive power, reaching between 300 kW and 320 kW in “Overboost” mode, depending on whether the car is equipped with the standard “Performance” battery or the optional “Performance Plus” battery.
With the “Performance” battery, the range extends up to 559 kilometers, and under the “Performance Plus” setup, the Taycan 4 impressively soars to a driving range of 643 kilometers according to WLTP standards. This grants the Taycan 4 the title of performance champion among all-wheel-drive electric vehicles, with driving distances nearing those of the more powerful Taycan variants.
Thanks to the two electric motors—one on each axle—the Taycan 4 offers enhanced stability and traction compared to its rear-wheel-drive counterparts. This is illustrated by its acceleration capabilities, with the Taycan 4 accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, outpacing the rear-wheel drive version by two-tenths of a second despite an extra weight of 80 kilograms.
Porsche’s continual cyclic development has refined its all-wheel drive strategy, and the new Taycan 4 benefits from these enhancements for efficiency. The front electric motor disengages when conditions allow, reconnecting in milliseconds precisely when it’s needed, such as during acceleration or energy recuperation phases.
The extensive standard equipment for the Taycan 4 includes 19-inch “Taycan” wheels featuring “aero” type blades, striking black brake calipers, and cutting-edge matrix LED headlights. Safety and performance technologies such as Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) are also part of the standard package.
The inviting cabin showcases comfortable front seats with eight-way power adjustment, luxurious black partial leather upholstery, and a sleek dark silver accent package. The space is completed by a leather multifunction sports steering wheel, matte silver aluminum door sills, and a high-quality Sound Package Plus audio system. Buyers can customize the partial leather interior in Slate Gray Neo or with a stylish two-tone black and chalk beige theme.
With these new models, the Taycan range has expanded dramatically, offering unparalleled options for enthusiasts. Customers can place orders now, with availability anticipated at dealerships starting early 2025. The new Taycan 4 sports sedan starts at 110,400 euros, while the Taycan GTS sports sedan is priced from 153,100 euros, and the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo will be available at 154,000 euros.
