THE MANAGEMENT OF THE Indonesian Equestrian Sports Association Center (PP PORDASI) has set a target of qualifying athletes for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Pordasi himself held an Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub) in Jakarta, Saturday (2/11) yesterday to formulate various steps to advance the achievements of equestrian sports at the national and international level.
General Chairperson of PP PORDASI 2024-2028, Aryo PS Djojohadikusumo emphasized that the National Conference discussed important agendas, including improving the organization’s Articles of Association/Bylaws (AD/ART) as well as formulating development programs, especially in the regions.

“A structured and continuous coaching program is very necessary because we have a mission so that Indonesian athletes from equestrian sports can enter and compete in the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympics,” said Aryo in his statement on Sunday (3/11).
To realize this mission, PP PORDASI will take a number of strategic steps in the next four years. First, facilitating the development of equestrian sports infrastructure and venues in Indonesia, which currently do not have international standards.
This is necessary so that the entire championship agenda is in line with the International Equestrian Sports Federation (Fédération Équestre Internationale).

Second, PORDASI will encourage the construction of stables and distribute assistance for stud horses to all provincial administrators (Pemprov), especially racehorses and equestrians so that equestrian development in the regions will be more advanced.
This program is also to support the animal welfare campaign which is a serious concern of PP PORDASI and the president.
Third, PP PORDASI will also facilitate the holding of various events to encourage championships at the domestic level.
“The addition of championship events is not only aimed at finding the best athletes, but is also expected to create a large economic impact on society, especially in the regions,” said Aryo.

Currently, equestrian sports in Indonesia consist of four main branches, namely Racing, Equestrian, Polo and Horseback Archery. In developing the equestrian sports ecosystem in Indonesia, PORDASI will involve all stakeholders, especially the young age group.
In addition, the use of technology will be encouraged to ensure the development of equestrian sports is relevant to digital developments.
The General Chair of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Raja Sapta Oktohari, welcomed PP PORDASI’s mission which targets equestrian athletes to be able to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

“Of course this is something that is encouraging for all of us. With clear goals, it will be easier for us to determine various priority and focus programs that will be taken in the next four years,” said Okto.
Okto also hopes that PORDASI under the leadership of Aryo Djojohadikusumo can carry out a transformation in the equestrian sports ecosystem in Indonesia which is still facing various challenges.
“Pak Aryo is a young figure who is a visionary in developing the equestrian sports ecosystem, including the industry and socio-economics within it,” concluded Okto. (Ndf/P-3)
