Michele Perry, a friend of the pope, is the brother of Andrea Perry, who was shot dead by a robber on June 3, 2013 in Pesaro, Italy.
Since the pope heard the news and contacted Michele, they have been calling regularly for the past 10 years, and this is the 90th call, local media reported.
“The pope’s voice was resonant and resolute,” said Michele. “My goal is to have my 100th call with the pope.”
