Berlin – In the ARD quiz show “Gesucht – Gejagt” with moderator Alexander Bommes (47), candidates in teams of four face tricky questions in order to earn a large sum of money. On Saturday evening (19 August) a celebrity special was broadcast in prime time at 8:15 p.m. Also included: Batsinger Kerstin Ott (41). But in the quick guessing round, she made a mistake with a music question. There was avid comment on social networks.

The “Always Laughing” interpreter appeared alongside actor Anna Loos (52), athlete Philipp Boy (36) and moderator Thomas Hermanns (60) in “Asked – Hunted”. Ott was the first from her team to answer Alexander Bommes’ questions. In the run-up, the Berliner already announced: “I’m a bit nervous!”. And with the second question, her excitement showed clearly.
Alexander Bommes asked: “In music, which octave comprises a ladder?” After a short deliberation, Ott had to pass and wanted to move on to the next question. After the moderator said the correct answer, “Scale,” the singer just shook her head. In the 60 seconds of the quick guessing round, the Berliner was able to answer three questions correctly and started the race once morest the “hunter” Sebastian Klussmann (34) with 1,500 euros. But in the social networks, Ott’s wrong musical answer – and that as a singer – was eagerly judged.

ARD has been thrilling millions of viewers in Germany with “Gefrage – Gejagt” since 2012. The concept of the quiz show does not come from Germany, however, but from the British broadcaster ITV. The pioneer runs under the title “The Chase” (in German: “Die Jagd”) from “Asked – Hunted”, in which the candidates, as in the first, compete once morest a “hunter”, there since 2009 and is moderated by actor Bradley Walsh (63).

On X, formerly Twitter, some TV viewers commented on Kerstin Ott’s quiz appearance with sometimes snappy comments: “Kerstin Ott doesn’t know what a scale is, that just explains so much”, “Is a musician, but doesn’t know the scale” or “As Singer, she should have been able to answer the music question,” read some of the lurid tweets.
