WILHING. A special highlight this year is the Wilhering summer concert “pop meets classic” in the Stiftsscheune Wilhering. The concert program by Hans Peter Gratz & friends – a fusion of their own piano-oriented compositions with well-known classical melodies – delighted the audience.
Last weekend, an evening between classic, pop, tradition and modernity took place, which caused thunderous applause with the international tenor Iurie Ciobanu (Milan’s Scala) and the famous soprano Manuela Dumfart (Peking Opera). “With Hans Peter Gratz, his ensemble and internationally experienced singers, the audience experienced a musical firework display of the new and the familiar, the thrilling and the dreamy – simply an unforgettable evening.”The program ranged from what is probably the most famous tenor aria “Nessun Dorma” from Puccini’s Turandot to the musical classic “I only belong to me” to the unforgettable melody “The Lonely Shepherd” by James Last and the gentle piano theme from the film “Forrest gump”.
