“In a public bathing area, there is a risk of catching fungal and bacterial skin diseases. All of them are specific and bring discomfort, ”she said.

The list of problems that can be obtained due to the wrong choice of pool includes:

  • Fungus
  • Scabies
  • Allergy (to substances that disinfect water)

“You need to be careful, because in addition to skin diseases, you can also pick up infectious ones that easily enter the body,” Serdyuk added.

For example, in the pool you can catch rotavirus, which causes an acute intestinal infection. Due to dehydration, this disease can lead to very serious consequences. Hepatitis A also spreads through water, and handrails sometimes retain papilloma and herpes viruses.

Security measures:

1. Do not visit the pool with digestive disorders;

2. Wear slippers and do not use other people’s towels;

3. Shower with soap before and following class;

4. Avoid direct skin contact with sunbeds and benches; cover them with a towel;

5. Do not swallow water.
