Pontoise hospital: an internal investigation after the defenestration of a teenager

The management of the Pontoise hospital has opened an internal investigation following the defenestration, Monday morning, of a 12-year-old girl in circumstances which have yet to be determined.

The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. The young girl, who had been hospitalized since the day before in the establishment for, according to certain sources, having expressed suicidal tendencies, went through the window of the 2nd floor where she was hospitalized. She would have voluntarily thrown herself into the void to end her life.

Immediately alerted by the hospital staff, the emergency services quickly intervened to take care of the victim who was hospitalized on the spot in absolute emergency following the medical team of Samu 95 provided him with first aid. She would suffer from a traumatic brain injury. According to the Gazette du Val-d’Oise, she was then transferred to Rouen.

The management of the hospital does not confirm the thesis of the suicide attempt

“His vital prognosis is not engaged”, specifies this Wednesday the management of the René-Dubos hospital in Pontoise which announces “that an internal investigation is in progress in order to study the exact circumstances of this accident”, without confirming it was a suicide attempt.

She specifies that “the parents of the teenager, immediately notified, were able to exchange, as soon as the facts occurred, with the management of the hospital and remain in close contact with the establishment”.

Management finally indicates that psychological support has been offered to the family. “A medico-psychological unit has also been set up to support the staff particularly affected by this dramatic event”, adds the hospital management.
