PON 2024 Holds 20 Boxing Finals Today

The boxing sport at the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) reached its peak at the HKBP Nommensen University Auditorium, Pematang Siantar, North Sumatra, Thursday (19/9).

As reported by Betweenas many as 20 final matches will be presented in various classes. From the women’s sector, nine gold medals will be contested and the remaining 11 matches will roll in the men’s sector.

Looking at the list of boxers who will appear, some of them are defending champions. For example, in the women’s 45-48 kg class, there is the name Endang from West Nusa Tenggara who will face West Papua boxer Merlin Tomatala.

There is also South Kalimantan boxer Aldriani Beatrichx Suguro in the women’s 50-52 kg class who is competing with West Java representative Ayu Pramustika.

Jakarta’s Novita Sinadia will also defend her gold medal at the 2020 PON against West Java boxer Alfianita Kartika Manopo in the 52-54kg division. Then in the 60-63kg class, West Nusa Tenggara boxer Huswatun Hasanah will
competing with the representative of East Nusa Tenggara, Dominika Asnat Bayo.

An equally fierce match is also predicted to occur in the men’s sector with several PON 2021 gold medal winners returning to appear in the final match.

In the 48-51 kg class, there is Riau boxer Ingatan Ilahi who will face the representative of the host, North Sumatra, Duta Fadillah Simatupang.

In addition, there is also a match in the men’s 80-86 kg class between West Java representative Maikhel R Muskita against the host boxer from North Sumatra Davind Simbolon.
