A driver aboard a Polo was pursued on Saturday by police officers from the Samsom area in the territory of Sambreville. The individual, whose reason for fleeing the police is unknown, headed for Jemeppe-sur-Sambre. The police officers of the area and the WPR came to reinforce the police force to put an end to the race of the driver.
Arrived on the road from Velaine to Jemeppe, the latter hit a police car which was coming in the other direction. The individual was injured while the two police officers were seriously injured and were taken to hospital. Proof of the power of the impact, the Sambreville firefighters landed on the scene with an extrication vehicle. The prosecution also descended on the scene and the street was cordoned off for investigative duties. SG
