PRESIDENT-elect Prabowo Subianto admitted that he had studied a number of names who would fill the minister’s seat. He admitted that several names were proposed by the leaders of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition political party. Of these names, said Prabowo, they have the capacity to fill positions in his future government’s cabinet.

“Actually, the process has been going on for a long time, of course we were in a coalition, the political party leaders submitted names. We studied the background and I have to admit that there are many who are very good, very capable,” said Prabowo in Jakarta, Friday (11/10).

Prabowo said he was also monitoring a number of ministers under President Joko Widodo who would become ministers in his government. However, he did not specify who the minister was.

“We have been monitoring some of them for a long time and I can say that I have been part of the Advanced Indonesia cabinet and I have worked with several ministers and indeed many of the ministers I have seen are capable, many are professional,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that Prabowo Subianto had reviewed the biodata and profiles of the ministers. He said there was a due diligence carried out by Prabowo’s team on the proposed ministerial candidates.

“Of course biodata is requested, then profiling, then finalization. Later there will be a kind of fit and proper, even though it has been carried out by the team, it will be carried out directly by Mr. Prabowo for a face-to-face session and then in the finalization stage,” said Dasco.

Sufmi admitted that he did not know for sure how many ministries there would be. However, he received information that the number was at 46 ministries.

“I’m still going to calculate the final number. But then the number is around that (46),” said Dasco.

Dasco admitted that there were ministries that were split and formed new ministries tasked with carrying out the campaign promises and programs of the Prabowo-Gibran government.

“I received information that the existing ministry really wants to optimize the function of the ministry as best as possible so that it will be useful for the people, while at the same time focusing on Pak Prabowo’s campaign, namely the hopes and 17 action programs which will then be implemented in the ministries, both existing ministries and then ministries that were split into new ministries,” he said.
