Political Islam and the Loss of the Dream of the State in Iraq, by Samir Adel

Al-Sudani’s government is considered a critical and dangerous station in the life of political Islam for its survival in power, since it was marketed, floated, and installed by the occupation, and its survival in power depends on eliminating political fragmentation within the ruling class and winning the state machine, the main machine of repression from the army, police, national security, intelligence, and judiciary, and decisiveness The fate of the state’s political identity, i.e. the Islamic identity with a Ja’fari version similar to the Islamic system in Iran.

The formation of the Sudanese government by the pro-Iranian wing does not mean the end of the crisis of political Islam at the level of power and at the social level, and therefore none of its representatives breathed a sigh of relief, such as Khazali, Maliki, Al-Amiri and Al-Fayyad, despite their launch of dozens of media bubbles, recording their first victory since the overthrow. Abdul-Mahdi’s government and return to the executive authority.

The current dilemma of political Islam in Iraq is not due to the masses uttering it, as the October uprising proved only, but that the forces that represent political Islam are linked to an ideological, political and economic dimension with the ruling Islamic regime in Iran, and that the aforementioned regime has been groaning from the blows of the masses in Iran since Months, and the least described live his darkest days.

Whoever witnessed the 1979 revolution in Iran, before it was hijacked by the mullahs with the support of the West, or at least read its historical chapters, remembers very well that the stage of the fall of the Shah’s regime took two years, that is, the beginnings of the revolution began to appear two years ago, and this is what is happening today in Iran, but with a different scenario. At the level of the international arena, or at the level of the struggle experience possessed by the masses of Iran, or at the level of the terrible repression machine owned by the Islamic Republic, which exceeds the repressive machine owned by the Shah’s regime.

Playing with fire to stay in power:

The political stagnation that has loomed over Iraq since the formation of the Sudanese government, which has passed cold and peacefully for the Islamic parties and their militias, has another title, which is the calm before the storm.

The Sudanese government, with the support of the worn-out Shiite Islamic house, consisting of murderers, militias, and Islamic parties and their personalities, is trying to absorb the resentment of the masses, taking advantage of the budget surplus it earned as a result of the rise in oil prices, which is estimated at more than 115 billion dollars in 2022, as it works to distribute part of it. Funding programs must confirm workers and employees contracts in the sectors of electricity, municipalities, water resources and lecturers, or create job grades for unemployed graduates. Although this step is nothing more than a failed attempt to defuse a new social explosion or another uprising, it is at the same time It puts the Iraqi economy in contradiction with the neoliberal policy that the ruling class signed with its national, Islamic and democratic convolutions, and the white paper was the umbrella under which everyone gathered, and they gave the green light to the Al-Kazemi government by converting it into practical policies, which first resulted in the devaluation of the local currency against the dollar This is not to mention that agreements were concluded between the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to raise the government’s hand to provide services and employ the unemployed in the workplace. government obedience.

In other words, the failure of the Iraqi government to fulfill its obligations towards the aforementioned financial institutions, the latter will raise the economic cover on them and thus will result in lifting the political cover on them as well.

Those Islamic forces are aware of the seriousness of the situation they are going through, so Hadi al-Amiri, the leader of the Badr militia, did not borrow one of the main accomplices in the killing of the October demonstrators, and the main suspect in the theft of the century, which is estimated at more than $ 2 billion in tax money, as indicated by the British Guardian newspaper, and other circles that estimate it as 15-25 billion dollars. We say that Al-Amiri did not borrow Guevara’s cap and Castro’s shoes, except to appear in a media masquerade party, and to talk to us about “colonialism,” as Putin talks about Russia these days in the midst of his war against the West, and Al-Amiri adds that we must confront and struggle against colonialism in Iraq, that is, the struggle against the aforementioned financial institutions that will transfer the Iraq file to the American Mufti. We saw its first chapters a month ago when the US Treasury imposed economic sanctions on four Iraqi banks for their involvement in money laundering and diverting them to support the mullahs’ regime in Iran, which led to the deterioration of the Iraqi currency.

It must be noted two basic issues that hold the stranglehold of the political Islam project in Iraq. The first is that the main Islamic forces in the political process consider themselves an ideological and political extension of the Islamic regime in Tehran. Therefore, they do not have any political project in Iraq, other than transforming Iraq into an economic market. Iran has a source for smuggling money and oil, and a logistical source to influence the political equation in the region in favor of the regime’s influence in Iran. Therefore, we find all figures and symbols of Shiite political Islam, such as Al-Amiri, Khazali, Al-Fayad, and Al-Maliki, playing the role of high commissioner and as first-class employees of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and they work hard not to Their ideological devotion is marred by their allegiance to the velayat-e faqih.

As for the second issue, it is the same political Islam and because of the absence of any political project to build the state in Iraq, as we indicated, ISIS gangs were able to pursue Maliki’s army to the outskirts of Baghdad within days, and yet they brag about us that they were behind the victories over ISIS, while it was Al-Maliki, who is talking today with his comrades Al-Amiri and others about colonialism, rushed to the US administration and demanded that it activate the strategic agreement between Iraq and the United States of America, before ISIS reached the gate of the Green Zone.

That is, what we want to say in this regard is that the Islamic regime in Iran, for more than four decades of its control of power, has not been able to consolidate its roots, and has failed miserably to transform the Islamic identity into a social identity for the masses of Iran, and after the killing of Mahsa Amini, that identity was torn apart, to be replaced by It is replaced everywhere with a new identity (woman, freedom, life), and the Islamic Republic recognizes it through its dissolution of the morality police that killed Amini. The popular crowd militias are inconsistent and have multiple heads and allegiances, in addition to the US administration’s intelligence and financial lurking about them. How can this authority secure its survival!

And the most dark matter that adds to the darker picture regarding the ruling political Islam in Iraq is that its political forces will face their fate unilaterally. Like Venezuela about the possibility of obtaining political asylum if the regime collapses, and it is known that Russia is one of the international supporters of the ruling regime in Iran, and when its official news websites publish such reports, it means that something will happen to the Islamic regime on the horizon, and if we add Western sanctions to it What is new to Iran, especially the European one, is another indication that the countries of the world are taking steps and preparing themselves for the post-Islamic regime’s fall, and it can even be noted that the US administration’s apathy about signing the nuclear agreement or its indifference compared to at least four months ago, with its continuous efforts and expediting access. To a final version of the agreement, these are other facts that reveal a new era that will open in Iran, the region and the world.

Returning to our topic, what is happening in Iran is behind this political stagnation that hangs over the political situation in Iraq, which also gave a dose of audacity to the most opportunistic politician of the era, Muhammad al-Halbousi, the speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, by speaking for the first time to the media, and in an exclusive interview about The sectarian cleansing and demographic change that took place in the area (Jurf al-Sakhar) of Babil Governorate, south of Baghdad, since the days of ISIS. Al-Halbousi and his group, which is called the Sunni Alliance, are tightening their travels to leave their pro-Iranian trench, and move to a new trench, after changing the direction of the winds, and so on with regard to al-Sadr and his movement. Those who are surrounded by silence, the forces that call themselves Sunni and the Kurdish nationalist forces, all of them are sitting in the waiting room and on its painful fire, their hands holding their hats for fear of the wind coming from the east.

In the final analysis, political Islam in Iraq exists as a militia authority, and not as a political system, a state, and a political identity.

And if we turn a blind eye to Iran, whose Islamic regime failed to integrate with the contemporary capitalist world, then in Iraq, the maximum that political Islam went to in terms of intellectual and political production is what came from their only vision, Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr in his books (Our Philosophy, Our Economy, and Our Morals), and the latter suffers from confusion A confusion, an incoherent mixture, and written in an era as an attempt to counter the intellectual hegemony and the economic alternative to Marx and the socialist trend in the world.

In other words, we say that the situation of political Islam and the government that came with it are more fragile at the internal, regional and international levels, and the banners of resistance and opposition and the new title “colonialism” will soon turn into the banner of appeasement, peace, good neighborliness, social peace, etc. from the market of nonsense that degrades Shopping with symbols of political Islam.

On the other hand, hastening their departure, the departure of the nightmare of political Islam, also depends on the escalation of the struggle against the tails of the Islamic regime in Iraq.
