The AFP agency reported on Sunday the kidnapping of a Polish volunteer doctor from Saint-Michel Hospital in Dono Manga, administered by the international Catholic humanitarian organization Caritas. Dono Manga is located over 400 km southeast of the capital N’Djamena.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that an intensive search operation is underway for a doctor kidnapped in Chad. Chadian and French forces are taking part in the action. It is supervised on site by Security Minister Mahamat Charfadine Margui.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that “Polish diplomatic and consular services have been on site from the beginning and remain in constant contact with the local authorities and the family of the kidnapped person.” “For the good of the case, we ask the media to refrain from reporting on it,” he emphasized.
