ŁKS reserve players ended their adventure in the current edition of the Polish Cup in the 1st round of this competition. On Tuesday, at the Król Stadium, Kotwica Kołobrzeg turned out to be better than the Łódź team, winning after a fierce match 3:2.
Tuesday’s match in Łódź, whose stake was advancement to the 1/16 finals of the Polish Cup, ended with the victory of the first league team from Kołobrzeg, although in the first half the team with a more interesting offensive performance was coach Konrad Gerega’s team. It is true that the guests had the best opportunity to score a goal (before the break they wasted a penalty kick because Jonathan Junior hit the post), but earlier there was a lot going on on the other side of the field – the visitors’ goal was scored by, among others, Mateusz Więch, Maksymilian Rozwandowicz and Aleksander Iwańczyk.
After the change of sides, coach Ryszard Tarasiewicz’s players quickly took the lead and then increased it even further. One hundred and twenty seconds were enough for Tomasz Kucharski to be defeated by Nicolas Rajsel (an accurate shot from the penalty area line) and the unlucky kicker from the first half, who took advantage of a serious mistake of our defense, took over the ball and confidently shot it into the goal.

Some hope was put into the hearts of the Ełkaesia players by a beautiful contact goal by Mateusz Wździech (the midfielder hit from about twenty meters), but just five minutes later, one more serious mistake in our back, an uncertain intervention by the ŁKS goalkeeper, and then the decision of the referee, who noticed Maksymilian Rozwandowicz’s foul meant that this time Jonathan Junior made a mistake from the eleventh meter. It is true that Kacper Popławski, who was introduced at the end of the match, reduced the scale of the defeat in added time, but the opponents still turned out to be one goal better.
The second ŁKS team lost to Kotwica Kołobrzeg 2:3, so the Betclic 1st League representative advanced to the next round of the Polish Cup. The Ełkaesia team will now focus on the league games, including the next match, i.e. the home match against KKS 1925 Kalisz scheduled for Friday.
