Police West Kowloon Region cracks down on illegal parking, issues 1,700 pieces of beef jerky, and drags 14 vehicles away

Officers from the Kowloon City Police District and the Traffic Division of the West Kowloon Region launched a joint operation yesterday (13th) to strictly enforce the law at various traffic black spots in the district. The operation mainly targets illegal acts that pose a danger to road users and cause obstruction, including loading and unloading passengers and goods in restricted areas, violations in the area of ​​zebra crossings and illegal parking. During the operation, a total of 1,700 fixed penalty notices were issued, mainly involving illegal parking, and 14 illegally parked vehicles causing serious obstruction were towed away immediately.

In addition, officers also issued 27 summonses for prosecuting traffic offences involving bicycles or pedestrians, including prosecuting pedestrians for not obeying traffic lights to cross the road. The Police also adopted mobile video law enforcement to strengthen the crackdown on irresponsible driving behaviors and attitudes of drivers. Police appeal to motorists not to park illegally for a short period of time to ensure smooth roads and protect the safety of road users.
