Aipda Robig’s Use of Force Deemed Excessive

Central Java Regional Police Chief of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) Kombes Pol Artanto stated that Robig violated police procedures relating to the use of firearms in this incident.

“Essentially, the person concerned committed excessive or excessive actions. So, when he used special police equipment like firearms and pistols, he should comply with existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),” said Artanto during a statement while addressing the media.

Artanto emphasized that firing upon civilians during a brawl is unacceptable police conduct.

"It means he didn’t need to shoot the person who was fighting. This is the focus of Bidpropam’s investigation,” Artanto clarified.

No Warning Shots Fired

According to Artanto, two bullets fired by Robig hit

This incident raises serious concerns about police use of force. With the police confirming that ⁢Aipda Robig did not fire warning shots before resorting to lethal force against unarmed students involved in a brawl, this begs the question: Was this truly a last resort situation, or a case of excessive force?
