Two officers hold a man lying on the ground. The video, which was recorded on Saturday followingnoon in the middle of the busy city center of Lucerne, caused a stir on Tiktok. It says that the man had a Kalashnikov with him.
The head of the Lucerne police media office, Christian Bertschi, confirmed the police operation at Blick’s request. At around 3:00 p.m., the police received a report regarding a man who was driving in a bus from Löwenplatz to Schwanenplatz with a gun in his hand. From there he continued on foot along the banks of the Reuss. This was announced by the Lucerne police.
Long gun without ammunition
“Five minutes following the emergency call was received, officials were on site and arrested the man on Rathausquai,” says Bertschi. “The man had a long gun with him, but the gun stock was empty.”
Thus, the man never posed a danger to passers-by. The man suffered minor injuries when he was arrested. “The arrested person was confused and has since been taken care of,” explains Bertschi. (gin)
