The delegation arrived at the Police School on Sunday night, where they were received by their families and a large number of people from Santiago who came to show their gratitude.
The Santiago Police who last week had left for Corrientes to collaborate in the fight once morest forest fires, returned home today with the satisfaction of having more than fulfilled the mission entrusted to them and carrying on their shoulders the heavy burden of experience and the emotion.
The return of the commission, made up of almost sixty policemen who work in the Fire Division, the Special Rescue and Salvage Group (GER) among other specialized units, took place tonight and did not lack the commendable demonstration of pride, and the congratulations of the case and the hugs marked by fire by those who saw them leave and today they have them once more among their relatives.
As is known, the contingent from Santiago made itself available to the emergency committee of the province of Corrientes to carry out strategic work to fight forest fires. They arrived at the town of Goya, so that from there they were assigned an intense job in the towns of Santo Tomé, Curuzu Cuatiá, Perugorría and Mburucuyá, where they stoically stopped the advance of the fire, which left catastrophic losses in ecological, environmental and economy in that province of the Argentine coast.
Governor Gerardo Zamora was the one who ordered the departure of the troops on that occasion, a decision that was as wise as it was timely, and the people of Corrientes knew how to thank the gesture with applause and acknowledgments, both personally and on social networks, for the Santiago police who, regardless of the distance or danger, they carried out an enormous task side by side with locals and firefighters from all over the country who joined in the fight once morest the flames.
The chief of police did not hide the pride he feels in being at the helm of this institution, which once once more proves to be up to the task by giving concrete answers thanks to the commitment and training of each officer.

The commission of volunteers was made up of 56 troops trained in natural disasters, so they had the necessary technical equipment to undermine forest fires and thus provide a heroic, and at the same time unequal, collaboration in the face of the fires that consumed hundreds of thousands of hectares, seriously affecting the wild flora and fauna, like the life of the Corrientes brothers.
