At the same time, as stated in the relevant announcement, the cutting of the New Year’s pie of the Greek Orthodox Church of Greece took place at the Grand Hotel Palace, with a crowd of people.
As reported by voria.gr, the President of the Union welcomed those present and in his brief greeting mentioned the necessity of institutional, financial, equipment and legal protection of the Greek police officers and the huge issue with the hundreds of police officers of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki in the Directorate Traffic Officer, something which, as he pointed out, causes a lot of official unrest among the entire staff.
Afterwards, the Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Mr. Varnavas, blessed the pie and the officials were invited to cut a piece of king pie making a wish for 2024.
