The federal police pulled out all the stops in the Brussels commune of Jette this Friday morning, reported The capital. A judicial exclusion perimeter was set up between rue des Augustines and avenue Charles Woeste, a federal police helicopter flew over the area and the Special Units launched an assault.
For what ? According to our colleagues at The capitalthe police believed they were dealing with a hostage situation in a home which had already been the scene of several interventions for drug addiction and where there had been a potential family dispute.
But once there, the police realized that “there was nothing to worry regarding”. The suspect was still arrested, but has since been released. The spokesperson for the Brussels West police describes this intervention as a “huge misunderstanding”.
