Under Section 122 of the Crimes Ordinance (Chapter 200 of the Laws of Hong Kong), indecent assault is a criminal offence punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment. The police will deploy additional officers in uniform and plain clothes to patrol, and appeal to the public not to try the law.
