Police in a Dutch village are looking for a woman who called the emergency services for no reason 1,400 times in the space of two months.
The woman unknown to police circles unnecessarily called 112 (the equivalent of 911) 1,400 times in the past two months from a seniors’ residence without the police knowing who it was.
The local police, who were able to determine that the calls came from the rest home in the village Velp, are not however able to prove that the woman does indeed live in this residence.
If these nuisance calls have not blocked the emergency lines, they might cause problems in the event of a real emergency, deplores the neighborhood police who exclude going door-to-door in the residence.
“The number remains accessible, but this woman occupies a line for nothing and prevents another person from calling”, indicated the agent Barat Bosman, quoted by a local media, taken up by 7Sur7.
