Police dismantle network in Tanjung Pura, distribution carried out using drones

A LOT National Narcotics (BNN) together with the Tanjung Pura Regional Military Command (Kodam), West Kalimantan uncovered a case of Malaysian network drug trafficking in the Tanjung Pura area. The perpetrator distributes drugs using a new method, namely using drone.

“Because we have two borders, East and West. From the West, starting from Temacu, Jagoi Babang is what they use and there they usually carry more than 10 kg, 15 kg, and finally we failed to bring 35 kg,” he said.

Then, Luqman said that the perpetrators broke down strategies on small scales. However, his party can still detect it with information from the public and cooperation with BNN.

The distribution of drug evidence was revealed by Kodam XII/Tanjungpura on Thursday, August 29 2024. A total of 550.4 grams of methamphetamine and 9,062 ecstasy pills were confiscated.

Apart from that, a suspect with the initials U alias Umar was arrested. The suspect and all evidence were handed over to BNN for further investigation and investigation.

“(The role) of the person concerned (the suspect) was to pick up the goods himself and carry the goods himself and distribute them directly. It is possible that something like that happened,” explained Luqman.

Luqman emphasized that the TNI is committed to continuing to work together with the Police, BNN and all citizens, especially in border areas. With the hope of preventing illicit goods from entering Indonesia through border areas.

“We have declared war on drugs, there is no bargaining. The price is fixed,” he stressed.

Daily Executive (Plh) Deputy for Eradication of BNN RI Brigadier General Sabaruddin Ginting added that border areas are indeed one of the challenges in eradicating drug trafficking in Indonesia. Moreover, illicit goods are packaged in small pieces and brought into Indonesia via border areas from neighboring countries drone.

However, Sabaruddin confirmed that his party would take anticipatory steps for this new mode. He ensured that BNN would continue to cooperate with the TNI and other state officials in eradicating drugs.
