The police were mobilized en masse Monday evening between Rive and Bel-Air. In question, a call for depredations broadcast on social networks, in particular TikTok, visibly taken seriously.
These threats particularly affected certain businesses in the city center such as Fnac or Foot Locker. A first call was made for action at 8 p.m. The second for 10 p.m. The broadcasters ask “all neighborhoods to mobilize” and bring back firecrackers and other smoke bombs.
On the ground, there will ultimately be no assault on businesses, probably thanks to the strong police presence. However, checks were carried out throughout the evening on the many groups of young people wandering in the Rues-Basses. Groups of three to four teenagers, but no gathering. They come from Lignon, Thônex, Charmilles, some are very young.

The police are present in large numbers, on foot, by car, on motorbikes, in all the adjacent streets and in the squares. Several private security companies are also patrolling.
Some young people are arrested, searched, encouraged to return home. One of them tries to escape a control and is caught by the agents, dragging in his fall a display of postcards. The police find on another a balaclava and gloves.
“Every two seconds we get checked brother, cowardly, not a little proud, a teenager with a changing voice. It’s nearly 10 p.m. Plain-clothed policewomen address a group of minors aged around fifteen: “We mustn’t stay there. Go home . It’s almost time.” Response in the heart of the young trio: “But madam, we are not going to break up stores.”
At 11 p.m., a fight broke out at Eaux Vives. Firecrackers are fired at buildings in Meyrin. The night of the police is not over.
