A subject was injured in an alleged confrontation with officials of the Municipal Police of Angostura del Orinoco.
Uniformed officers from the Criminal Investigation Service surprised two armed subjects trying to rob a passerby in the Libertador neighborhood, in the La Sabanita parish, in Ciudad Bolívar.
Noticing the presence of the authorities, the duo activated their firearms against the police commission, causing a shootout in which one of the alleged assailants was injured.
The 23-year-old citizen was transferred to the Ruiz y Páez University Complex, where he remains under medical observation and police custody.
According to official information, the injured man has police records for drug trafficking.
