Alleged hitmen murdered and beheaded Cristal García Hurtado, a state police commissioner in the western Mexican state of Michoacán, on the night of Sunday, March 17.

The Ministry of Public Security of Michoacán (SSP) reported on Monday the 18th that the police chief was murdered along with a man and two female officers, who acted as her bodyguards.

The triple homicide was recorded around 11:00 p.m. local time on Sunday the 17th (5:00 GMT time on Monday the 18th) on the state highway that connects the Michoacan municipalities of Pátzcuaro and Uruapan, near the Purépecha indigenous town of San Juan. Tumbio.

Cristal Garcia was in charge of the Pátzcuaro Regional Police Station, which integrates other Michoacanian municipalities such as Ario de Rosales, Erongarícuaro, Huiramba, Lagunillas, Quiroga, Salvador Escalante, Tacambaro and Tzintzuntzan.

Pátzcuaro is located 65 kilometers from the city of Morelia, capital of Michoacán, where state authorities have discovered the operation of drug trafficking organizations calling themselves the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), Los Caballeros Templarios and Cárteles Unidos.
