The Women and Children Services UNIT (PPA) of the Surakarta Police uncovered a case of sexual harassment by a man with the initials Y (43) against four girls. The suspect is a resident of Gabudan Village, Joyosuran Village, Pasar Kliwon, Solo.
Cases of sexual crimes against children in the city of Solo are increasingly alarming and worrying. Throughout this year alone, there have been at least 12 cases of sexual violence handled by the local police, with the number of victims reaching dozens of children.
“One child, B1 (15), who is the nephew of suspect Y (43), was tricked and had sexual intercourse with the suspect several times from 2020 until the end of July 2024, resulting in a pregnancy of more than 3 months,” said Surakarta Police Chief, Police Commissioner Iwan Saktiadi when holding a meeting. press at the local Mako, Thursday (17/10).
According to Iwan, the perpetrator lured Rp. 50 thousand to the victim who was aged between 4 and 12 years to carry out the abuse. In fact, one of the 12 year old victims turned out to be his own nephew. His niece is currently pregnant as a result of the suspect’s depraved actions.
The disclosure of the victim’s pregnancy began with the suspicions of her parents and relatives who noticed physical and behavioral changes in the teenager. For example, the desire to eat young mangoes, which is a habit of young pregnant women.
In fear, the victim was finally unable to dodge her parents’ various questions and admitted that she had been abused by Y. Currently, her pregnancy is estimated to be 3 months old.
“From there it was revealed that suspect Y not only did this to his nephew, but to 3 other children. The second victim also had sexual intercourse with him several times since 2022, and two others had their sensitive female parts molested,” added Iwan.
The sexual crime case by suspect Y was first reported by the Head of RT Gabudan, as a representative of the victim’s family. And as the investigation progressed and the investigation continued, a series of lewd behavior by suspect Y was revealed towards the 4 children who were his victims.
The suspect admitted in front of journalists to committing sexual crimes against the four victims, but denied that his perverted actions were accompanied by various threats. “I forget when it started, but there was no threat,” said Y, lowering his head.
Police Chief Iwan said that in relation to the sexual crime committed by suspect Y, the National Police charged him with Article 81 and Article 82 of Law 17 of 2016 concerning child protection, with the threat of imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years and a maximum fine of IDR 5 billion.
