A 43-year-old man was arrested on Saturday by police in Stockton, United States, in connection with six homicides. These murders have rocked this central California town since last year.

The alleged murderer was taken into custody on Saturday morning following going “hunting” for another possible victim, local police chief Stanley McFadden told a press conference. “He was on a mission to kill,” the officer said, adding that Wesley Brownlee was carrying a gun when he was apprehended. “We are sure we have prevented another murder.”
Five men were killed in a Stockton neighborhood between July 8 and September 27 in partly similar circumstances. Another man was put to death in April 2021 in Oakland, 80 km west of Stockton. The victims were between the ages of 21 and 54.
‘Not that kind of terror’
A woman survived an armed attack believed to have been carried out by the arrested man. Investigators are still trying to determine a possible motive. The Californian city of Stockton, home to 350,000 people, is located regarding sixty kilometers south of the state capital, Sacramento.
The alleged killer is expected to appear in court on Tuesday to be charged, local prosecutor Tori Verber Salazar said, adding that her office is reviewing the evidence to determine what charges will be brought once morest him. “This crime was solved because we are residents of Stockton.
