In less than a week, three murders have been recorded in Morales, Izabal. The first incident occurred on February 21, when Orlando Galindo “Landito”, 21, tried to defend his mother, Karla Verónica Rodas Cordero, from an armed attack, which occurred in a boutique. The hitman who was wearing a red sweatshirt, cap and mask fled through the alleys.
“Landito” was known in Izabal and other places thanks to his TikTok channel where he taught sign language.
Four days later, two bodies were found wrapped in plastic in the Barranca in Morales, Izabal, and on one of the bodies there was a manuscript that said “We do not want to see hitmen in the town, because hitmen seen, hitmen dead, or people with masks “Justice was served with the death of ‘Orlandito’. I hope the authorities investigate the case further, we will be uploading all the evidence we found on these criminals’ cell phones.”
The Department of Crimes Against Life of the PNC indicated that it is investigating the death of the two men identified as Wilson Rolando Lima Juárez and Walter Antonio Ramírez Campos, to determine if these crimes are related to the death of “Landito.”
In addition, they indicated that they are investigating the videos circulating on social networks, where a man claims that Lima and Ramírez are responsible for Galindo’s death, but that they were hired by a woman whom they recognized as “Doña Lucky.”
The PNC hypothesis indicates that the armed attack once morest Rodas Cordero and his son Orlando Galindo is due to a case of extortion.
The attack
That February 21, an armed attack occurred inside a boutique located in Morales, Izabal.
A video that circulated on social networks showed the moment in which a man enters the boutique, owned by Karla Verónica Rodas, Landito’s mother, who was the owner of the business.
In the images it is observed that a man pretends to be a customer of the store, orders a product and then pretends to leave the store, but then he pulls out a gun and shoots.
It is not seen in the images, but the shots were aimed at Karla Verónica, but Landito, upon seeing the armed man, intervened and the attacker shot him.
Landito and his mother were taken to a health center, but the young man died minutes later due to the severity of his injuries.
The mother was seriously injured and is recovering.
