POLICE will follow up on the report of misuse of NIK for regional head nominations. It is known that the report was submitted by a victim to Polda Metro Jaya, Friday (16/8/2024) night.
“That’s right. Further investigation will be carried out,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Saturday (17/8/2024).
It was previously known that a Central Jakarta resident, Samson, 45, reported the misappropriation of his Resident Identity Card (KTP) by the independent pair Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana in order to fulfill the requirements for candidacy in the 2024 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.
The report was received with the number LP/B/4830/VIII/2024/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated August 16, 2024. The reported party is suspected of violating Article 67 Paragraph (1) of the 2022 Personal Data Protection Law.
“I, Army Mulyanto, represent my client, Mr. Samson. Today’s goal is to file a police report regarding the misappropriation of population registration number data,” said Samson’s attorney, Army Mulyanto at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday (16/8/2024).
In the report, Samson brought several pieces of evidence. There were screenshots from the KPU (General Election Commission) application to the KTP. He hoped that the report made by his client would be followed up by the police. (Fik/P-3)
