Poland will make efforts to organize the Olympic Games

Donald Tusk visited one of the pitches in Karczew on Friday, together with the Minister of Sport, Sławomir Nitras. There, he announced that Poland will try to organize the Olympic Games.

The head of government’s statement indicates that he is referring to the summer games, as Tusk mentioned 2040 or 2044. “Poland has no reason to feel any inferiority complex. Euro 2012 is still remembered as an organizational masterpiece,” the prime minister said.

— In November I will present a development strategy for Polish sport that will cover the period until 2040.i.e. precisely until the potential Olympic Games, said the Minister of Sport Sławomir Nitras.

The plan to organize the games is not new, however. President Andrzej Duda had a similar one just before the parliamentary elections in 2023.

— It is our ambition and intention to begin efforts to host the Summer Olympic Games in our country in 2036 — the president announced in September last year.

During the 2nd European Congress of Sport and Tourism, the President and the Minister of Sport announced their efforts to organise the most important sporting event in the world.

“The development of our country is dynamic. We are convinced that by 2036 we will have CPK and a network of road connections. In terms of infrastructure, we should therefore be ready to implement such an undertaking,” Andrzej Duda wrote on platform X (formerly Twitter) at the time.
