Poland handed over the first MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, said Marcin Przydacz, head of the Office for International Policy of the President of Poland.
“Certainly, Ukraine will seek further support. Several MiGs have already been sent,” Przydach said on RMF FM. In response to a clarifying question from a journalist, he noted that the fighters were sent by the Polish side.
Przydach noted that, according to his information, the process was completed in terms of the transfer of the first part of the aircraft. During the visit of President Volodymyr Zelensky to Poland on April 5, the transfer of further aircraft units will be discussed.
Przydach did not specify how many planes Ukraine received in the first batch. But on March 16, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced the transfer of four MiG-29s to Ukraine in the coming days.
