Ankara, March 16 (EFE) .- The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, warned today that his country will be in a “difficult situation” if it does not receive international aid to care for the almost two million refugees who have arrived fleeing the invasion Russian.

“This is a refugee crisis. I ask international organizations and states to help. Otherwise, we will find ourselves in a very difficult situation,” Duda said at a press conference in Ankara, where he met today with his Turkish counterpart. , Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to talk regarding the situation in Ukraine.

Duda pointed out that some 100,000 people cross every day from Ukraine to Poland where, according to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), 1.8 million people have already arrived since Russia launched its attack on the 24th.

The two presidents today stressed the need to end the war immediately.

“We agreed to continue intensive diplomatic talks to end the war,” Erdogan told the joint press conference.

The Turkish president said that his country has taken in a large number of refugees, from conflicts such as the one in Syria, in recent years and assured that he fully understands the situation in Poland.

The two indicated that they will meet once more at the summit that NATO, of which the two countries are members, will hold on the 24th.
