Pokémon Sleep game will turn your sleep into entertainment

When Pokémon GO was released, it quickly became a good incentive for players to get out of their homes and, in a way, move around a bit. This time, the Pokémon Company want to encourage you to sleep. Literally!

Announced in 2019, the game Pokémon Sleep it finally looks like it’s coming to mobile devices this year. The intention of the game is to monitor sleep and turn the good habit of sleeping well into entertainment, while you find out more regarding each Pokémon’s sleep.

To play it, all you have to do is leave your smartphone under your pillow while you sleep. Then, throughout the night, the game will record, analyze and categorize your sleep according to a type — which will be represented by some Pokemons. In the story, you will help a researcher on a small island to analyze the sleep of Pokémon.

Your adventure takes place on a small island where you’ll conduct research on how Pokémon sleep. You’ll work with the big Snorlax who lives on the island and with Neroli, a professor who studies Pokémon’s sleeping styles.

The company also announced the Pokémon Go Plus + (I know, that name…), which is an evolution of the previously released gadget, Pokémon Go Plus. The new device will allow you to interact with both Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon GO, without the need to use a smartphone.

When sleeping or waking up, just tap the button on the device and a Pikachu will “answer” — and it can even sing lullabies. In Pokémon GO, the accessory helps to pick up items at Pokéstops and even capture Pokémon along the way.

For now, Pokémon Sleep still does not have a release date – however, the company has stated that it will be later this year and that the game will be available for both iOS and Android.
