A Pokémon Go player has expressed his displeasure on social media over an error that unfairly prevented him from obtaining costumed Pokémon in Raids that were still active following the event ended.

Pokémon Go players have quite a bit of work to do with the current season, Time Travels, which features a lot of content across several events. One of these events allowed players to capture new costumed Pokémon, but some players are discovering that an annoying bug is preventing them from obtaining these special Pokémon.

This happened to several members of the Pokémon Go community who, tired of being ‘lured’ by Niantic, took to social media to protest this annoying glitch.

Reddit user ‘backdoorintruder’ was one of the players sharing a post on the Pokémon Go Reddit asking the developers to fix this as soon as possible and said: “Has anyone else had this problem today?”

The author also shared details regarding several failed Raids where he lost his chance to obtain various costumed species: “I did 3 Raids tonight for Hoothoot, Gengar and Bulbasaur. Everyone wore their respective hats until the capture screen. Has anyone else experienced this? Really disappointed with this lure by Niantic.”

An angry Pokémon Go player responded to the author’s post: “This often happens if the event is over. Horrible, but Niantic doesn’t know how to code.” While another added: “Wow, that’s ridiculous.”

Meanwhile, one of the trainers explained what happened: “When the event ends, so do the special appearances. You did the Raids following 8 p.m., so you didn’t get the costumed Pokémon.” To which Reddit user ‘pogokitten’ responded: “So they shouldn’t let Special Raids start if they’re going to end following the event. I wasted a remote pass because I really wanted the Hoothoot shiny lol.”

In the event that Niantic offers an explanation as to why this happened or introduces a fix for this error, we will let you know. In the meantime, we should look forward to the next Community Day featuring Brindibou and the upcoming Hisui Typhlosion Raid Day in Pokémon Go.
